We have taken this picture at the summit of the Passo di Valparola and look eastwards to Cortina d’Ampezzo. Passo di Falzarego is just in front of us about 1mile direct line and you can spot the Falzarego pass road swinging down on the right hand side of this picture.

The summit of the Passo di Falzarego is in our back. We continue our trip towards northwest down to Val Badia. We still are on the little plateau of the summit which we will leave when we have passed the little hostel.

That’s a picture from the summit but this time coming up from the village Villa Stern out of the Garder valley (ital. Val Badia) and having passed the little hostel on our right. You can see the rocks laying around that are victims from World War I when the mountain was blown off.
