This picture was taken at the third turn with a view to the west over to the Furka pass. In the valley below is Andermatt. The road behind Andermatt, which comes from the mountains to the left leads up to the Gotthard and right down through the Devil's Canyon to Wassen.

The little church of Tschamut. We look into the Upper Rhine valley towards Sedrun and Disentis. Coming up from Disentis we always rode gently uphill. Hampered by numerous small villages. From here the real pass road begins.

This picture was taken at the same position as the picture above, this time with a panoramic view in direction West to the pass and the Rhine river source.

We have left Tschamut and have followed the pass road through the first avalanche galleries. We pass a little Alp diary hut and ride through the first four serpentines. In the fourth serpentine, if you dont “fly” too fast, you can see a narrow path. This short way you can ride by motorbike about 30ft and park the bike. From that position this picture was taken.

We have reached the top of the pass, with a view to the north. The pass road continues straight towards Andermatt. The station of the Furka Oberalp railway can be spotted left in the background.

Same position as the picture taken above , different focal length and viewing angle. This is a famous picture taking location to document the pass sign. Just notice this giant blue sky.

Same position as the picture taken before just rotated by 90 degrees clockwise. The hospice "beer garden" with good food and best prices. Because the pass has lots of bike traffic its usual that you end up in lots ofpetrol talks.
