Most eastern point of that region is the village Ulrichen, starting point to Nufenen pass and Furka pass, located in upper Valais county (Goms). Northern bordered by Lake of Thun and the Berner Alps, Top of Europe and the biggest European glacier, the mighty Aletschgletscher. Most western point is the town Martigny. Southern regional border is formed by the are around the massiv of the Monte Rosa mountain with its Dufour summit and Zermatt with its Matterhorn. Does include passes like Simplon pass, Col de la Forclaz and Col du Grand St. Bernard.
