Ortler Mountain Group and Stilfserjoch |
|
The mighty mountain Ortler block reaches in the North the Vinschgau valley of South Tyrol and reaches eastwards to Bolzano and Meran. The western border is Bormio and Tirano in the Valtellina, southern boder is the Val di Sole (Sunny Valley). Does include one of the highest alpine passes like Stilfserjoch, Gaviapass (ital. Passo di Gàvia), Tonalepass (ital. Passo del Tonale), Mendelpass (ital. Passo di Mendola) and Gampenjoch (ital. Passo di Palade).
