Motorbike Tours Bavarian and Tyrolian Alps

Lech Valley and Bavarian Alps Tour

Hochtannbergpass
(c) Dietrich Pals 2013

Total tour distance: 237km/128mls

travel time with breaks: 7:45h, incl. lunch in Pfafflar at Hahntennjoch

We start our motorbike tour in Bregenzerwald and follow from the village Egg on the Bregenzer Ach creek up on the L200 to Schroecken and ride acroos the Hochtannbergpass (1,676m/5,499ft). In the village Warth we go straight down into the Lech valley and continue on the B198 down until we nearly reach the village Elmen. Here we take a right up to the Hahntennjoch (1,884m/6,181ft). Just a bit before we reach the pass summit, we reach a location named Pfafflar, where you’ll find on the left hand side a biker meeting point and a good restaurant with beer garden. Here we take our lunch. We then continue our journey passing Imst, Landeck and the Arlbergpass (1,793m/5,883ft). It is highly recommended that you do follow the signs “Arlberg Panoramastrasse” between Landeck and St.Anton at Arlberg, otherwise you’ll end up on the toll highway. Just a few miles behind the Arlbergpass summit, we take a right onto the Flexenpass (1,773m/5,817ft) road passing the villages Lech and Warth back to Bregenzerwald. The tour is calculated for a brake all 30min for picture taking and “smoking” and can based on that made as an easy daytour.

The Big Silvretta Tour

Silvretta storage lake
(c) Dietrich Pals 2013

Total tour distance: 276km/171mls

travel time including breakes: aprox. 7:50h, incl. lunch at Silvretta Stausee

We ride the famous Silvretta High Alps Road from the side of Monafon valley, because if you ride it from there, the curves can be taken uphill which is much more fun than downhill. We start in the Bregenzerwald and follow from the village Egg on the Bregenzer Ach creek upstream on the L200 to the small village Au. In Au we take a right up to Damuels and ride across the Furkajoch (1,761m/5,778ft) down into the Rhine valley to the town Rankweil. In Rankweil we take a left and follow the L190 through Feldkirch, Nenzig to Bludenz. At the end of Bludenz, just before the highway, we exit to the right onto the Silvretta Hochalpenstrasse toll road. We ride across the Bieler summit with the Silvretta storage lake (2,036m/6,680ft) and follow the road down through the villages Galtuer and Ischgl until we reach the Arlberg Panorama street. Here we take a left towards the Arlbergpass. Until you have reached St.Anton at Arlberg you must follow the signs “Arlbergpass Panoramastrasse”, otherwise you end up on the toll highway through the tunnels. Some miles after the Arlbergpasses (1,793m/5,883ft) summit, we take a right onto the Flexenpass (1,773m/5,817ft) road, where we ride through Lech and Warth back to the Bregenzerwald. The tour calculation does include breaks all 30min and can be easily made as a daytour.
